How To: Post-Holiday Reset

So you went a little overboard on sweets this holiday season? Good, so did the rest of the world! No need to beat yourself up about it.

When you're 80 years old, you're probably not going to find yourself telling your grand-kids about that time you made a kale smoothie, but you might find yourself telling them about one Christmas long ago when you and your family decorated cookies and ate them all in one sitting! The holidays are for making memories and spending time with people you love. No regrets!

But now you have a little post-holiday bloating? Maybe feeling a little tired and groggy from the lack of nutrients or some mild dehydration? Getting back on track is 80% diet and 20% fitness. These are the tips I follow for 2 weeks straight whenever I feel like I need a reset!

A Letter To My High School Self

I made a lot of mistakes back in high school. Everyone does! That is the time when we are supposed to make mistakes and learn from our experiences to be better versions of ourselves in the future.

However, there are some lessons that I think younger girls should not have to learn the hard way. Quick background to this post, my big girl job is to be marketing manager of Aramark at Tennessee State University. I deal with all aspects of the dining program for our students. One of the biggest complaints we get from students is that they feel like it is too hard to eat healthy on campus, so I wanted to share with everyone all the BTS secrets to how to use your meal plan for weight loss. After all, its my job to know this!

Scroll around each topic. I will list what to eat in the dining halls, some meals I enjoy, and a menu of healthy options available at fast food restaurants common to colleges.

Probiotics 101

I feel that one of the hardest parts about changing into a healthier lifestyle is deciding what vitamins and supplements you need, and even harder than that, what brands and types actually work. When I say I have pretty much tried every single cleanse, diet pill, fat burner, probiotic, fad diet, etc., trust me, I have. And while it is true that supplements are not one-size-fits-all, there are ways to weed out the ones that have the highest chance in showing results.
